President Joe Biden has selected Louisa Terrell the Director for the Office of Legislative Affairs.
The position: Provides coordination between the White House and Congress.
Louisa Terrell attended the Wilmington Friend’s School in Wilmington Delaware, a private school affiliated with the Society of Friends (aka Quakers), which included a school year abroad in France.
She received a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University in 1991.
She received her Juris Doctor from Boston College of Law in 1995.
Terrell served as the Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Division, in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office from 2000 to 2001.
From 2001 until 2008, Terrell served Deputy Chief of Staff and Counsel, Committee on the Judiciary, for Senator Joe Biden.
In 2008, Terrell worked as Senior Director of Federal Policy and Strategy for Yahoo! Inc., which ended when she joined the Obama 2008 transition team.
From 2009 until 2011, Terrell served as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs under President Barack Obama.
Terrell was the Director of Public Policy at Facebook from 2011 until 2013.
In 2013, Terrell became Chief of Staff to New Jersey Senator Cory A. Booker and served until 2014.
Terrell served as advisor to the Chairman, Tom Wheeler, at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from 2015 until 2017.
In 2017, Terrell executive director of the Biden Foundation until 2019.
Since 2019, Terrell has been the head of public affairs for McKinsey and Company as well as the General Counsel.
Terrell is on the advisory board for the Tufts College of Civic Life, is a senior visiting faculty at Delaware University, and a coordinator at Grate Patrol – Salvation Army Service to feed the homeless community in DC.
