Within a few days before traveling to meet my husband in Beirut, Lebanon for New Years, my husband called to tell me British Airways might have a strike the day before I left. My reaction was “Okay.”

He, on the other hand, was stressing out about it.

I asked him, “What happens if they strike? Won’t they book me on another flight?”

He responded that they would but I might not be the same day.

“Okay, but I will eventually be on a flight,” I responded. “Why stress about it? I can’t do anything about it now.”

Luckily there was no strike, but the flight was delayed an hour – making my connection very tight. When I checked in, the airline representative advised me I would have about an hour to make the connection in London, in a different terminal, and might miss my flight. She asked if I would like to just book another connection that was seven hours later. I asked her if I miss the connection will they rebook me on another connection. She said, “Yes.” I responded, “I’d like to give it a good college try.”

I asked her if I miss the connection will they rebook me on another connection. She said, “Yes.” I responded, “I’d like to give it a good college try.”

I responded, “Then I’d like to give it a good college try.”

It took fifty minutes to get to my connection, but I made it. My luggage did not.

My luggage did not.

Fortunately, everything important to me was in my carry on. Clothes were not important to me, so I spent two days in the same clothes after arriving in Beirut. But I didn’t care.

I was in Beirut with my husband.

It’s important in life to realize the things we have control over and those we don’t. We prepare the best we can and then we just enjoy the ride. No need to stress or get angry over things we have no control over as though they are the ‘end of the world.’

That’s not to say we shouldn’t be passionate or even advocate our position, we should just do it from a place of realizing the real consequences of both the situation and our own stress levels.

Becoming angry or stressed would not have affected the speed of my travel. I knew I would eventually get to my destination and my clothes would too.

These videos are all about bringing awareness to the #LoveGlassesRevolution founded by my close friends Tara Ijai & the CHOICE we all have in every moment to see the world around us through the lens of love, empowerment & joy.

Should this 30-day challenge speak to you & you’d like to join the party:
1. Make the decision
2. Choose something that speaks to you that is reflective of love (it can be a video, quotes, art, random acts of kindness, reading a page of your favorite book, etc.)
3. Share it! We could all use more of that! The gift is in both the sharing and receiving.

There is no limit to what we can accomplish together if we share a small part of ourselves with each other. That is love. That is being alive.
